As you’ll come to see with the site, I prefer ungraded coins. While this does mean that occasionally I’ll purchase something I feel was described a little less than perfectly, overall it makes me much happier.
Why? I’m not really sure. I just hate the look of a slabbed coin versus one that’s bare. Plus, there’s the off chance that your coin will be worth more than you paid if you opt to grade it and resell! Not that I ever do that though.
Anyway, right now I’ve got my eye on this 1916-D Mercury Dime. It’s a little outside of my price range at the moment, but I do think it’s going relatively cheap.
This coin had a rather low mintage of 264,000, by far one of the lowest in the series. The one up for big is in amazing condition, and all the edges look extremely sharp.
